[ Meanwhile, Dirk has his own insecurity about doing something like this. Was being too romantic going to make him uncomfortable? That was the point of a date, right? To be romantic? But what if he didn't like it? What if it was a weird idea? What if it's too forward? The nervousness doesn't show on his face, but his fingers are quivering slightly.
When Yugamu responds like that, though, it reassures him and his shoulders relax. ]

[It's all very logical, which Yugamu respects. He's a very emotionally free and open person, but he respects levelheadedness. He is a man of science, after all. As well... Dirk was worried for his comfort in the colder temperatures of the sky. How considerate. Very sexy of him.
The last thing he says makes Yugamu fluster a little, though. He doesn't really need to be protected, and most people know that. Dirk probably knows that on some level, after what Yugamu has told him. Most people trust him to be able to take care of himself, which he can! But that doesn't mean he doesn't want to be treated gently some times.]

[ Dork. He releases one of his hands and keeps hold of the other, leading him towards the fire escape of his little shop. The air is brisk when he opens the door and starts to climb up the staircase. He will never get over how developed this city is, with his neon lights and pollution clouding the air. It's nothing he's ever seen before.
Once they're at the top, he looks directly into the sky, making sure there's no airplanes or anything that could get in the way. Nothing but the night sky and a wall of clouds. ]
[He does want to think of it that way, and Dirk is in no place to call HIM a dork, wow!!! He follows behind Dirk, buzzing with excitement, and doesn't hesitate to follow the instructions, holding on tight and standing close so he can (hopefully, in his mind) be properly scooped up in Dirk's arms when they take off.]
[ Just as Yugamu anticipates, Dirk dips down and whisks Yugamu off of his feet, indeed holding him in bridal style like he had visualized. Although Dirk isn't a body builder, he still feels very solid. He starts with drifting off of the rooftop a few feet, carefully as if they were floating. ]
[He giggles giddily when Dirk scoops him up. Yay, haha, yay!!! He cuddles in close, getting as much data on Dirk's body has he can. His musculature, the texture of his skin, how he smells.... He almost misses the question Dirk asks.]
I'm not afraid of heights... You can go as high as you want to show me... But I think I'd like to be able to see the city, so maybe not above the clouds.
[ While Yugamu is taking information in on Dirk, he's also doing the same thing, analyzing the color in his eye, or how pristine his skin looks. The laughter makes his cheeks flush slightly. He never understood how people could be so expressive and animated; it seemed impossible for him to be that way. ]
